If you want to visit a Texas state park in the hill country you have 18 amazing parks to choose from. They all offer great views of the land, plenty of plantlife, and a lot of them have water features to splash around in.

The list below features links to read more about each park from visit recaps or official TPWD sites. If you love journaling about your visits then pick up a Texas park passport from the gift shop!.

Guadalupe River SP and LBJ both have sub-parks that you can visit as well. At Guadalupe River SP you have to visit on a Saturday to visit Honey Creek State Natural Area, but here you’ll be able to enjoy 2,000 acres of natural habitat.

If you want to step back in time then check out the Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm. Just a short hike from the main visitors center you’ll be transposed to what life was like for German immigrants who settled this land. Check out the farm animals, walk through the homes, and take in the scents of the food cooking in the antique stoves.
