Aquifer is pleased to share exciting news––the development of an Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) course. This endeavor is part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive curriculum coverage for health professions education.

This initiative is a collaborative effort with national experts in OB/GYN. These experts have joined forces with Aquifer as case authors, contributing their wealth of knowledge and experience to shape a curriculum that reflects the evolving landscape of obstetrics and gynecology.

Dr. Emily Stewart, Aquifer’s Chief Curriculum Officer, sheds light on the decision to create the OB/GYN course. In her words,

“Schools recognize the importance of Aquifer cases as a critical component of health professions education comprehensive curriculum, and educators at these schools are seeking more cases in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Aquifer’s goal is to ensure cases are available in all the core rotations for health professions students to experience.”

Aquifer will release an initial set of OB/GYN cases in July 2024, with more publishing on a rolling basis. The course will culminate with a total of more than 20 cases.

For the 2024-25 academic year, only Curricular Partners will have access to the case set.

These cases, carefully chosen and developed by national experts in obstetrics and gynecology, cover a range of topics vital to a holistic understanding of the subject. Some topics include:

  • Uncomplicated pregnancy and induction of labor
  • Cesarean delivery
  • Postpartum endometritis
  • Chronic hypertension in pregnancy
  • Abnormal uterine bleeding
  • Menopause
  • Twin pregnancy following IVF
  • Infertility
  • Diabetes in pregnancy
  • Human Sexuality
